Most Canadian Financial Institutions (FI) allow their clients to send Interac e-Transfers, and these transfers can only be received by McGill University from a Canadian FI. View the list of participating Canadian FIs.

Please note, if you are a customer of Desjardins, you will not be able to send an Interac e-Transfer to McGill and you will need to send the payment by wire transfer.

Instructions for Interac e-Transfer Payments

1. Log into your banking institution’s online banking app or website, and follow your banking institution’s instructions for issuing Interac e-Transfers.
2. Add McGill University as a payee/contact with the following information:
   
   • Recipient Name: McGill University
   • Recipient Email: accountingmei.mgmt@mcgill.ca
3. Enter the amount in CAD to be sent by e-Transfer.
   
   • Most financial institutions have a daily e-transfer limit of $3000 CAD. If your invoice amount is more than $3000, you can send the payment in two e-transfers, one day apart.
4. Enter your order details in the Message field. Please enter the following information:
   
   • Your full name
   • Seminar name
   • Invoice #

McGill's bank account is registered for auto-deposit, therefore a security question is not required. However, some FIs may still insist on a security question and answer before you can send the e-transfer. If this is the case, set up the question/answer, but do not e-mail this information to us, or to anyone else. Once sent, the Interac e-transfer will be automatically deposited into McGill’s bank account, even though you may have set up a security question/answer.

Please be sure to retain a record of your FIs confirmation number for your files. We will send you a confirmation e-mail once your payment is received.

Wire transfers are accepted in Canadian Dollars (CAD), US Dollars (USD) and some foreign currencies*.

*Certain payment restrictions apply for international payments – please contact us for more information.

Important: Reference information to include with all wire transfers

1. The department at McGill University that is to be credited (McGill Executive Institute)
2. The contact person at McGill University and telephone number (required)
3. The purpose of payment (Invoice # and Partipant's Name)

Active McGill Staff members are entitled to a 50% discount on our seminars (certain restrictions may apply). If you are a McGill Staff member, please email us at executive@mcgill.ca to complete your payment by FOAPAL. Please include the FOAPAL to be charged and your order number in the email. Payments by McGill University FOAPAL are tax-exempt.

Please note that full payment of the seminar fee is required prior to the seminar start date. Your registration will be confirmed when we have received your payment.
