Registering

How do I register?

Online
To register online, from the seminar page please click the "Purchase" button next to the dates desired, and then enter the required information. At the “Payment Method” section, you can select either Credit Card or Other (which then enables you to request an invoice).

By Email
To register by email, please send us the Required Registration Information (see below) at executive@mcgill.ca and a member of our customer service team will acknowledge your registration by email as soon as it is completed.

By Phone
To register by phone, please call at (+1) 514 398 3970 or toll free 1 888 419 0707 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a member of our customer service team will finalize your registration over the phone with you.

What is the Required Registration Information?

Please provide us the following details at registration time;
  • Prefix - Mr., Mrs., Dr. or Prof.
  • Full Participant Name
  • Participant Company – Printed on the participant name plate
  • Participant Job title – Used to build seminar teams with different backgrounds
  • Participant Company Address
  • Business Phone and/or Cellphone #
  • Email address – Seminar communication and registration confirmation will be sent to this email address
  • Food allergies – List or confirm if None or Unknown
  • Payment Method – Credit Card, Company Cheque, Personal Cheque, Invoice (clarify with or without PO)
You must provide these further details only if you require a formal invoice
  • Billing Contact Name
  • Billing Contact Phone
  • Billing Contact Email – Supply email if you desire the invoice to be emailed
  • Billing Company – If different from participant’s
  • Billing Address – Only if you require a different Company Address on the invoice
  • PO # – If required by your organization
  • The McGill Executive Institute reserves the right to request and review past occupational, academic and/or linguistic experience to decide if a candidate meets requirements for admission to any of its open enrollment courses.

How does McGill University staff register?

Please call us at 514 398 3970 for more information – payments by McGill University FOAPAL are tax exempt.

What are the next steps?

About 14 days prior to the seminar start date, you will receive an email from the program coordinator. This email will include any readings to be completed before the start date (if applicable to the seminar) and general instructions.

Then, we will be happy to welcome you on the first day of your program. It’s as simple as that.

Note that you should communicate with our customer service team at executive@mcgill.ca if you foresee any scheduling issues or delay in your attendance.

Payment

What are the payment methods?

By Credit Card
You may pay online or over the phone with a personal or corporate credit card. Your position in the program is confirmed only when the card has been successfully debited.

By Personal Cheque
Personal cheques are accepted but note that no invoice can be issued to an individual; however, we can supply a billing summary upon request. Your position in the program is confirmed only when the personal cheque has been received.

By Corporate Cheque
Corporate cheques are accepted – please refer to Invoice Request for additional information. Your position in the program is confirmed only when the corporate cheque has been received.

By Wire Transfer
Wire transfers are accepted – please contact our customer service team at executive@mcgill.ca for the banking details. It is the responsibility of the participant to supply us with a banking confirmation. Your position in the program is confirmed only when the wire transfer has been verified by our accounting team.

Certain payment restrictions apply for international payments – please contact us at executive@mcgill.ca for more information.

Invoice Request
The McGill Executive Institute can invoice your company or organization directly. Note that following a McGill University Policy, we do not issue a formal invoice less than 30 days prior to the seminar start date; however, a billing summary can be supplied upon request. Your position in the program is confirmed only when the invoice has been paid as verified by our accounting team.

The following information is required for an Invoice Request;

  • Billing Contact Email – Supply email if you desire the invoice to be emailed

  • Billing Address
  • PO # – If required by your organization
When do I pay the program fee?

Payment must be received in full before the start of the seminar. Your position in the program is confirmed only when payment has been verified by our accounting team.

What is included in the Registration Fee?

The Registration Fee includes tuition, seminar supplies, meal service (breakfast, lunch and breaks) and a certificate of completion from the McGill Executive Institute. The fee is subject to the taxes of the province in which the program is delivered.

What is the Cancellation & Transfer Policy?

Cancellation requests
Cancellation requests must be received by email at least 14 days prior to the seminar start date for a full refund. Restrictions apply for international payments and certain programs – please contact us for more information.

Cancellation requests received less than 14 days prior to the seminar start date are not subject to refunds but a transfer can be requested – see Transfer Requests.

Transfer requests
Transfer requests must be received by email before the seminar start date and are subject to a $295 CAD transfer fee. After a full payment by credit card of the transfer fee, the “credit” can be applied to any seminar within 12 months of the original seminar start date (price difference may apply). Note that after a transfer, no refunds or cancellations are permitted. However, participants may send a qualified substitute in their place at no charge.

Forfeit Fee
If a participant gives no notice prior to the seminar start date and/or fails to show up, the full fee will be forfeited as of the first day of the program.

“Credit” from an uncompleted Transfer Request will be automatically forfeited after 12 months of the original seminar start date.

Note on Wire Transfers
If a learning service at the McGill Executive Institute is purchased for by wire transfer, any applicable refund must be made back to the original source and location of the wire transfer.

What is the Seminar Cancellation Policy?

The McGill Executive Institute reserves the right to cancel a program for any reason up to two weeks before the start date. In the unlikely event of a course cancellation, paid program fees will be refunded in full, but the Institute is not responsible for any travel or other related expenses accrued by the registrant.

Which credit cards are accepted for payment?

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted. The E-payment option is available when you register online. You can also call a customer care representative to provide your credit card number at (+1) 514 398 3970 or toll free 1 888 419 0707 from Monday to Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Can I apply for a tax credit or deduction with these seminars?

Since our seminars are management development seminars and not credited courses, we do not remit tax forms. We suggest you to discuss with your accountant if you wish to claim the tuition fees in your income tax. If necessary, we can send you a copy of the tuition fee receipt.

Note that our programs are certified for Quebec’s 1% training obligation and the McGill Executive Institute is a qualified training provider under the Canada-Ontario Job Grant.

Our registration number with the Quebec Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sport is # 979000.

Which hotels are closest to the McGill Executive Institute?

Montreal has many downtown hotels located within walking distance from the McGill Executive Institute. Always be sure to mention the McGill Executive Institute when making your reservations.

Are vegetarian or halal meals available?

Yes, but it is important to mention your meal requirements during your registration. Please call at (+1) 514 398 3970 or toll free 1 888 419 0707 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a member of our customer service team will make a note in your registration about your meal option.

Can I request a special meal because of my food allergy?

Yes, but it is important to mention food allergies during your registration. Note that if you have a severe food allergy, we unfortunately cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. For your own safety, we consequently ask you to bring your own food to the seminar. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

When will I receive a detailed program schedule?

Further instructions will be sent by email approximately 14 days prior to the seminar start date. If there is any pre-seminar work to be completed, it will also be sent at this time.

What do I receive upon completion of a seminar?

You will receive a Certificate of Completion from the McGill Executive Institute, stating your name, seminar title and date.

May I bring my laptop?

Yes, you may bring laptops.

What is the McGill Executive Institute's smoking or vaping policy?

In compliance with McGill University Smoking Policy, smoking or vaping is not permitted in our facilities. You may choose to go outside in the designated areas for smoking/vaping.

Is there a dress code?

Our participants tend to dress business casual. We do recommend however that you dress in layers, as not everyone feels comfortable at the same room temperature.

Does the McGill Executive Institute offer on-site training for my company?

Yes. In fact, over half of the Institute’s work involves delivering customized learning solutions to an organization or team. Our faculty team can travel to your office or another selected training facility anywhere in the world, or your managers can come to our downtown Montreal venue.

The McGill campus is set among beautifully landscaped courtyards at the foot of Mount Royal with easy access to transportation, shopping, and a lively business environment. Our facilities offer state-of-the-art classrooms, breakout room areas and an executive lounge.

If you are arriving by Metro (subway), we are located closest to the Peel metro station; exit by Peel Street and walk up the hill one block until you get to Sherbrooke Street. Our offices will be on your right at 1001 Sherbrooke Street West, located on the 6th floor.
